Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

One simple thing that brings immense joy to my life is spending time with my beloved canine child, Odin. There’s something incredibly special about those quiet moments we share that resonate deeply with the bond between an animal mother and her child.

After Odin finishes his meal, he has this adorable habit of staring at me with those soulful eyes, silently requesting me to sit down on the floor next to him as he sits in my lap or beside me. How can I resist? I sit on the floor beside him, ready to cherish our little ritual.

Playtime and Petting:

Sometimes, we play with his favorite toy pillow. He nibbles on it happily, and I can’t help but laugh at his playful habit that he has had since his puppyhood. Other times, I simply pet his forehead and back, murmuring sweet nothings and calling him a good boy for finishing his meal. His contented sighs and relaxed posture are all the reward I need.

Listening to our favorite classical music:

I play his favorite playlist of classical music, which makes him feel calm, content, and relaxed. We listen to our favorite classical tunes silently while my hand gently strokes his fur. Odin’s presence makes me feel alive, special, and truly happy, strengthening our bond even more.

Quiet Moments

There are times when we just sit together in silence. No words, no distractions, just the pure joy of being close to each other. Odin eventually falls asleep, his soft breaths, and occasionally twitching paws as he dreams, perhaps of running or playing. It’s a heartwarming sight that makes me forget all the stress of work and life. I simply cherish these moments, soaking in the warmth of our mother-child (human-canine) connection.

These simple acts of love and care make my heart swell with happiness. It’s a bond that only Odin and I truly understand, a unique relationship that brings so much joy to my life.
